David Fernandez is the Chief of Fleet Services for the County of San Diego. His Division provides acquisitions, maintenance, and fueling services for all County departments. His Division is also responsible for the conversion of the fleet to Zero-Emission Vehicles. The County fleet consists of over 4,500 vehicles and equipment comprised of all classes, including Sheriff patrol vehicles, Fire apparatus and ambulances, utility trucks, and off-road construction equipment. David has been with the County for almost 3 years. Prior to his time with the County of San Diego, he served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a Fleet Manager, leading fleets all over the globe including installations in Europe and the Middle East.
